Infinity COMMERCE is the core product of Data Pro’s Electronic Commerce solutions. Comprised of three unique
software pieces. Infinity COMMERCE is designed to easily integrate with your accounting software products for integration
to the Web. This is included along with the purchase of any of the three (3) variations of the System Administrator module.
The three key components (DP/SMART, DP/SHOP and POWERServer), are designed to enable firms to access or update
their accounting files from anywhere in the world. This brings about options that most firms do not believe to be possible
today.
Fully secure, Infinity COMMERCE provides you with the tools necessary to do anything from Order Processing with
secured credit cards to on-line pricing inquiries from your Inventory files, on-line order inquiries from the Sales Order
system, point of sale processing for multiple locations worldwide, customer account lookups, Payroll processing, cost code
transaction posting to Jobs and much more!
Processing accounting transactions in multiple business units or companies is easily accomplished with Infinity
COMMERCE.
One of the key technologies built into Infinity COMMERCE. DP/SHOP is the "shopping cart" technology Data Pro licensed
from Mercantec which allows management of the shopping transaction process. Unlike the standard Mercantec shopping
cart technology, DP/SHOP fully integrates with all Infinity POWER products and creates a very comprehensive processing
of data items, such as Serial Numbers, Units of Measure, multiple price tables and much more. Therefore, Infinity
COMMERCE is the natural growth product for any firm looking beyond Mercantec’s base shopping technology.
As a firm doing business on the Web, one (1) DP/SHOP License is required for each Merchant or store. If your firm hosts
multiple merchants (stores), you would need one license per merchant, whether credit cards are processed or not. Infinity
COMMERCE comes with an unlimited user license.
The POWERServer is the core communication engine that drives Data Pro’s Web technologies. However, it is also
capable of being used for much more. It is sold separately to allow firms who are not using the Web to also have a TCP/IP
communication engine that will talk to other software applications directly.
The uses for this type of technology are numerous. One example of this is the Clippership Manifest. Through integration
between the POWERServer module and their TracerX interface, all freight charges can be quoted on-line.
Weights are handled by the Infinity POWER Inventory Management system and sent automatically to the manifest
software as users shop on the site. Therefore, merchants can decide which freight companies to support, offering
shipping prices and options to their customers. Automatic calculations and then direct updates from the manifest software
become seamless using this key technology.
Once orders are shipped, all freight amounts, number of boxes, tracking numbers and more are sent directly to the Infinity
POWER Sales Order Entry module. This prepares each order automatically for final invoicing and tracking. The result
enables users to find this information on-line (24 hours a day, 7 days a week), including their tracking numbers that can
be hyper linked directly to the freight carrier, such as UPS and Federal Express. One click and the customer can go
directly to that firm’s Web site and see the current shipping status of their orders.
This removes them from your phone lines that ties up your internal staff and allows them to get information as quickly as
possible. No additional personnel involvement is required. This works well for firms integrated with the Web and firms with
high volumes of shipping requirements. POWERServer brings this seamless integration together.
The core language that enables the Web interface to the POWERServer is DP/SMART. DP/SMART commands are built
into your Web site’s HTML coding to make specific calls to your accounting server. Therefore, your graphics and design
of your Web site are completely left up to you. The POWERServer simply monitors for DP/SMART commands constantly.
Therefore, once it receives the right command in the proper format from the correct source, it knows what to do
immediately.
This creates a unique security level that is unparalleled in the industry allowing your accounting server to be in the same
building as your Web server or they could be thousands of miles apart. The combination of DP/SMART and the
POWERServer tie the two systems together.
DP/SMART has full access to every accounting file and record. It can perform inquiries on those data files (such as
looking for a price for a specific inventory item) or it can create new accounting records on-line (adding a new customer
on the fly). It can be designed to create transaction updates (such as adding a new sales order) or it can record the
receipt of inventory items on a purchase order.
